Judy Miller is spot on! Our two sons now 14 and 16 have been brining up the same questions with a different set of emotions throughout the past 12 years. Our oldest seems more at peace now, but our youngest is sure he somehow caused the abandonment. We refrained from jumping in and making him feel better, instead we listened and comforted him, but we also grieved with him. We cried together, held him and best of all his big brother told him - "I've felt the same way. It will never go away, but it does get easier," as his eyes shined with tears. We were lucky to have found Sheila Coonerty, Psychologist extraordinaire, who like Ms. Miller had adopted and gave us practical advice with a lot of heart!
