Perhaps a more interesting post could be titled, how did I get to be so prolific online and what made me think I could keep up with all of this stuff?
Answer: I did stuff because I could, not because it was a wise decision.
I’m laughing because I have a post thread going on this blog called: “How do you juggle so much done, Christina?”
These are the things I have eliminated from my online life, so I can continue to be productive.
I’m sure I’ll continue to need to do this on an annual basis. So perhaps this is the beginning of an annual tradition.
Here’s the online pages by me that I’ve killed, for the sheer frustration in dealing with them on an ongoing basis:
- My MySpace Page
- Two Squiddo Lens
- An old WordPress.com blog I never used but once seemed like a good idea
- An old Typepad blog I never used but once seemed like a good idea
- Two websites that I couldn’t update due to an error with my Adobe Contribute software. I am transferring them to a new host and forwarding them to this blog instead.
- An extra Constant Contact account (I love Constant Contact but I had two accounts, feel free to use my affiliate link to get a discount if you decide to start using one—it’s in the sidebar).
- All of this cutting back was on top of the cutting back I already started at the end of 2009.
I may be forgetting some. If there are more, I’ll add them later.

HA! I SO feel you. I've spent the last year doing things because I could rather than because I should. Well said and good for you!
I like that two blogs (wordpress and typepad) were dropped simply because at the time you though they were a good idea! I have a wordpress blog that hasn't yet been published and have set up other blogs in the past that made me feel way in over my head.
Its an interesting time where we feel so pressured to be everywhere at once and yet we run the risk of spreading ourselves too thin!
Social media must truly be a science, like organization, clutter control and general life balance! Thanks!
Thanks, Sean. It feels good. I was so busy last year, I had no idea I had spread myself so thin! Glad to know I'm not alone.
I think life balance is critical for the health of families as we enter this work/life blend chapter of the new millenium. Thanks for sharing!
Sounds like you are doing some much needed uncluttering! I send a publication out with Constant Contacts and I love it! If I didn't already have an account I would totally take you up on the discount!

Thanks, Alisa. 🙂
Hi Christina:
I posted 'Platform' on my blog, http://thewildcatsvictory.wordpress.com this evening and also explained I was using your advice to revamp the site for my next novel release.
Chris
Thanks, Christopher. I appreciate you sharing my post. Look forward to the revamp!
Thanks Christina for all you insight. Look foward to your blogs everyday!
