Your Writer’s Workout Receipt Is Your “Ticket” To My “Flash Class” on Tuesday, January 10th

To participate in the flash class, please email me your sales receipt for The Writer’s Workout to christina at christina katz dot com.

Here’s all the details on the flash class… (if you have further questions, please put them in the comments and I’ll address them for everyone’s benefit):

What’s a flash class?

Similar to a flash mob where dancers pour into a space and suddenly cut loose, a flash class is a time and space where I will coach Writer’s Workout readers for 24-hours only on some of the most important topics related to writing success today.

Who can participate?

Anyone who purchases a copy of The Writer’s Workout and submits a receipt to me by Monday, January 9th can participate in the flash class. After you send your receipt, I will let you know that I have received it and you will receive an e-mail reminder about the flash class with all the instructions by midnight, Monday, January 9th.

What if I don’t have a book yet?

If you have not purchased the book yet, view your options here. Either paperback or digital purchases qualify you to attend the flash class. Only one entry per person. No exceptions.

If you won a copy or received a review copy, you will still need to purchase a copy to be admitted to the flash class.

You do not have to read the book prior to the flash class.

What’s this flash class about?

During the flash class, I will be coaching writers in every genre on three topics related to writing success in 2012:

  • How to Assess The Power of Your Writing Portfolio (audio coaching)
  • How to Build Your Best Bio for 2012 (audio coaching)
  • How to Discover Your Unique Platform Dynamic (audio coaching)

Your job in the flash class is to listen to three short audio recordings and follow each with some focused brainstorming for your writing career in 2012. When the day is over, the class is over. So please mark your calendars and show up ready to jam out some ideas.

How long can I access the flash class?

Whereas a flash mob is a dance that takes place in a few moments and then is over, my flash class on January 10th will last all day so you can swing by when you have time in your busy schedule. Just come ready to work for whatever amount of time you have to spend…just like flash mob dancers come ready to dance. 🙂

Why are you doing this?

The flash class is part of my Writer’s Workout global book launch party, which started in December 2011 with a handful of blog tour appearances and continues through 2012 with a series of live speaking and teaching appearances. See my full book tour appearance schedule here.

Where is the flash class going to take place?

The flash class will be right here at ChristinaKatz.com on January 10th. Only folks who have purchased The Writer’s Workout will be able to participate in flash class.

What should I bring to the flash class?

Bring an open mind and whatever materials help you brainstorm best. This might mean old-school paper and pencil or your smart phone so you can talk into the voice recorder and let Siri turn your thoughts into a list. Whatever works for you.

How much time will I need to spend on the flash class?

I’m going to suggest a minimum of 30 minutes. Beyond that, it’s really up to you.

What’s the cash value of the flash class?

Well, since I’m going to lay it pretty frankly on the line and give some definitions and how-to instruction that are not widely available, I’m going to estimate the value of the class at $99.00 for a half hour of your time.

If I’m taking a class with you or I have taken a class with you or I’m going to take a class with you some day, should I still come to the flash class?

You won’t find these three topics addressed in quite this way addressed anywhere, not even be me. I’m not planning on doing a repeat of this offer any time soon. So come if you possibly can.

You can wake up early or go to bed late or stop by on your lunch hour and still get a lot out of your time investment.

Hope you can purchase a copy of The Writer’s Workout and block off some time on your schedule on Tuesday, January 10th to come by focus on how to make the most of your writing career strengths in 2012.

Happy holidays!

Very cool idea, Christina. Although I’m woefully behind on my honing-my-craft-related reading, I received and have eagerly dug into _Writer Mama_ this holiday. Enjoying it tremendously, and I’m especially mulling over your rather clarion call to specialize (rather than generalize); it’s something I’ve been considering for a while and it’s nice to get that confirmation and undergirding rationale from an expert.

Waiting two long days for my book to arrive from Amazon. Looking forward to joining you on the 10th!

Happy New Year, Christina! I am hearing impaired and audio is not an option for me. Is there any way I could get transcripts of the sessions without putting you through too much extra work?

How do I access the flash class? Is it via telephone or computer, and do I need a special program?

Iv’e never done a flash class, so I’m quite ignorant on how it works. Is it via computer or telephone? Do I need to download a program? I’m not sure if I have all that’s needed to access the class. Thanks.
