And the winner of The Distant Shore by Mariam Korbas is…
Mar!
Mar’s response was:
My something more would be more time, more money, more freedom, more support. I would love for someone to take over the financial responsibilities and say . . . “Honey, don’t worry. I’ll take care of the bills. You hire someone to run the agency and do whatever you need to do to finish your novel.” If I had that . . . just for a year, maybe less, I could find out if my novel is marketable and publishable. Perhaps it’s better not knowing because it keeps the dream alive.
Congratulations, Mar!

I re-read my post and if I were giving advice to myself I’d say, “What kind of cheese do you want with that wine?” Because a motivated WriterMama does not let obstacles such as time and money get in the way of realizing a dream. Sure, we’d all like to have Mariam’s instant success. But that’s rare. So ask not what “something more” you NEED to be a success; ask what “something more” you can DO to achieve your writing goals. I’m looking forward to reading The Distant Shore and communicating with Mariam. Thanks, Christina, for making this possible.
